Horizontal ridge on nail?

Nail trauma could cause it. I found from washing your hands too much can cause lines on nails to be much more deep and noticable. I got deep vertical lines and even one or two horizontal ones from that. Vitamins defiency could also be the reason for it. It could be something serious like diabetes or kidney diease but it would most likely be on all the nails if it were not just one.
