What was the larvae I just found on my arm?

It was very small, looked just like a maggot, similar in color, but did not have a dark spot on its face. It was also smooth and appeared to be shiny or slimy, and didn't have the ridges that maggots have. He would balloon his face/upper body up and seemed to crawl kind of like an inch worm. It looked as though he had a round, flat face that made him seem like a parasite.
